Materials / Shipping Supervisor

Location: Thorndale, ON Schedule: Monday – Friday - 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM EST

Salary: $74,000 – $85,000

Algonquin Bridge Limited is a leader in the design, fabrication, and rental of modular steel bridge systems, supporting critical infrastructure projects across North America. We are seeking a hands-on Materials / Shipping Supervisor to lead yard operations and ensure the safe, productive flow of materials and rental bridge inventory.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day yard operations, including storage, staging, organization, and material flow
Supervise and coordinate yard employees across shipping, receiving, picking, and packing activities
Maintain inventory accuracy through ERP transactions, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution
Coordinate shipping, receiving, and logistics to ensure timely and accurate material flow
Manage the day-to-day operation of the bridge rental program, including shipping, returns, inspections, and inventory readiness
Ensure returned materials are inspected, restocked, or flagged for repair
Maintain yard organization, equipment readiness, and material handling standards
Promote safe work practices and support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications





Required:
3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, materials management, logistics, or yard operations
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a hands-on environment
Strong knowledge of inventory control and material flow processes
Experience with ERP or inventory systems
Robust organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, yard-based environment

Assets:
Experience in a unionized environment
Forklift or material-handling experience
