Summary of Functions A teaching assistant (TA) is a graduate student (or a student at the bachelor’s level if no graduate student is available) who is responsible for assisting a professor in a course. The TA performs tasks such as:
- Marking assignments or exams
- Answering students' specific evaluation questions Supervising a final examination in person

(The distribution of these hours is determined between the professor and the student based on the needs.)
Hourly Wage (ref. RHR-204)
Undergraduate $22.44/ hour + 4% of holiday pay
Master $26.93/ hour + 4% of holiday pay
Doctorate $35.90/ hour + 4% of holiday pay
