TEACHING ASSISTANT - LEVEL 3

Daystar Childcare Centre, a new faith-based Daycare located in the Dickensfield area of Fort McMurray is currently accepting applications for a Full-time Level 3 Teaching Assistant. The Full time Teaching Assistant will directly report to the Supervisor of the Childcare Centre.

Major Responsibilities

· Provide various materials and resources for children to explore in learning activities and imaginative play.

· Attend to children’s basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers.

· Teach basic skills such as colour, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.

· Establish and enforce rules of behaviour and procedures by maintaining orderliness.

· Read books to entire classes or small groups.

· Organize and lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips.

· Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behaviour, social development, and physical health.

· Remain in constant communication with parents by updating them on their children's progress.





· Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations as established by official sources.

· Collaborate with other colleagues.

· Must maintain confidentiality.

· Assist with morning devotion.

· Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

· Child Development Worker certification - Level 3.

· A valid standard first aid certification.

· A valid criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector clearance.

· Minimum of 3 years experience in the childcare profession.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and initiative.

· Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Pay: $35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
