The base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.Job DescriptionRole OverviewThe IT Solution Architect – Application & Integration is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving end-to-end technology solutions across the Trade Finance and Working Capital Solutions portfolio. This role owns the overall solution architecture for complex, multi-platform initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy, enterprise architecture standards, security, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness within a large, regulated banking setting.The IT Solution Architect operates across strategy, design, delivery, and change, serving as the primary architectural authority for application and integration solutions involving internal platforms, cloud services, and third‑party/vendor technologies. The role requires deep technical credibility to guide engineers, challenge designs, and ensure high-quality delivery outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & Design AccountabilityOwn the end-to-end solution architecture for assigned initiatives and platforms, covering applications, integrations, data flows, security, and non‑functional requirementsTranslate business capabilities and requirements into cohesive, scalable, and secure solution designsDefine integration patterns, application interactions, and architectural blueprints across internal systems and external/vendor platformsEnsure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, target state roadmaps, and strategic technology directionGovernance,



Risk & ComplianceEnsure architecture complies with enterprise standards, regulatory obligations, security controls, and internal risk policiesLead architecture reviews, design sign-offs, and technical governance forumsIdentify architectural risks, technical debt, and constraints; propose mitigation strategies and phased improvement plansPartner with risk, security, and audit teams to address findings and ensure defensible architectural decisionsDelivery Enablement & OversightPartner closely with delivery teams, Senior Engineers, and vendors to guide implementation without direct executionProvide architectural direction during solution build, integration, testing, and production readinessResolve cross-platform design issues and integration dependencies during deliverySupport major releases, platform onboarding, and transformational initiatives from inception through productionPlatform Strategy & Lifecycle PlanningContribute to platform and integration strategy, including modernization, cloud adoption, and vendor selectionsDefine architectural patterns for reuse, resiliency, scalability, and cost efficiencyDrive reduction of architectural complexity and long-term technical debtSupport lifecycle decisions including onboarding, major upgrades, and decommissioningStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationAct as a trusted technology advisor to business partners, product owners, and technology leadersCommunicate complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholdersCollaborate effectively across architecture, engineering, operations, security, and vendor teams in a matrixed organizationRequired QualificationsExperience & Core Skills12+ years of progressive experience in application, integration, or platform technology roles,



with significant architecture responsibility7+ years of experience within Banking or Financial Services technology environmentsProven experience designing large-scale, integrated enterprise solutionsStrong understanding of non-functional requirements (availability, resiliency, security, performance, recoverability)Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skillsStrong analytical and systems-thinking mindsetArchitecture & Technical CompetenciesSolution & Integration Architecture: Distributed systems, integration patterns, API-led architectures, event-driven designsIntegration Technologies: REST APIs, MQ, Web Services, SFTP, file-based integrationsSecurity & Architecture: OAuth/OIDC concepts, TLS, certificate management, IAM fundamentals, network segmentationCloud & Infrastructure: Azure architecture, hybrid deployments, virtualization fundamentalsData & Formats: JSON, XML, relational database conceptsSDLC & Delivery Models: Agile/Scrum and Waterfall, architecture governance within delivery pipelinesNice-to-Have QualificationsDomain knowledge in Trade Finance & Working Capital products, including:Core Trade (Letters of Credit, Standby LCs, Documentary Collections)Supply Chain Finance (Payables, Receivables, Agile Discounting)Experience with large Canadian bank environments and enterprise delivery modelsArchitecture and industry certifications:TOGAF, SAFe Architect, ITIL, Cloud Architecture certificationsPrior experience guiding third-party vendors and complex regulatory-driven solutionsAttributes for SuccessAbility to balance strategic architecture vision with pragmatic delivery constraintsComfortable operating in highly regulated, mission-critical environmentsConfident decision-maker with the ability to challenge assumptions constructivelyStrong collaborator within large, matrixed organizationsCommitment to continuous learning across architecture, technology, and domain knowledgeOur Total Rewards PackageOur Total Rewards package includes a base salary, variable compensation, and key plans such as health and wellbeing benefits, savings and retirement programs, paid time off, banking benefits and discounts, career development, and reward and recognition programs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
