Position Title: Team Lead, Beyond the Bell
Location: Glenview Elementary School (7310 Cluff Rd, Prince George, BC V2K 2M3)
Term: Temporary, Part-Time
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm-5:30pm
Start Date: September 16, 2026
End Date: May 28, 2027
Salary: $20.63 per hour
Reports To: Coordinator, Beyond the Bell

The YMCA Beyond the Bell Program is an after-school program for children grades 1-5 that provides tutoring, skills development, physical activity, and social engagement.
The Team
Lead will assist in leading the program and staff team while working directly under the Beyond the Bell Program Coordinator. They will help prepare activities and snacks, direct staff and work directly with children in the program when it is running. In the absence of the coordinator, the Team Lead will be the acting supervisor in the program.
The Team Lead Position will follow the Beyond the Bell structure and curriculum, utilizing a 1 to 5 leader to child ratio, and instilling the Y’s core values of caring, respect, responsibility, honesty, and inclusivity. Children will be actively engaged in improving social, numeric and literacy skills while participating in academics, sports, outdoor play, arts and crafts.
Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:
- Leadership
- Academic and program planning for children of grades 1-5
- Operation of program while the Coordinator is away,
within the Y’s child behavior management guidelines
- Building healthy relationships with children, staff, caregivers, school employees •
- Being a play partner and homework helper and enjoy interacting with children ages 6-11
- Assisting with implementation of educational programming, interactive play, literacy skills, numeracy skills, science based learning, physical activity, and social skills
- Encouraging a safe workplace and ensuring policies and procedures are followed
Qualification-you bring:
- Relevant experience, training, and education working or volunteering with children, especially those facing barriers or who are neurodiverse.
- Leadership experience considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
- Ability to work individually and in groups with diverse children and their families
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Foodsafe Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
