Taber Special Needs Society has been in existence since 1987. The Society provides support to adults with developmental disabilities. The Society advocates and supports an inclusive environment both for the individuals and the staff that support them. There will be on the job training and job shadowing.

Rotation details: Permanent Full-time position. A flexible and adaptable approach is required– could include working varied hours including morning, afternoon and evenings based on clients needs and availability.

Overview: We are looking for a compassionate, adaptable, and motivated Team Lead to join our residential services team. In this role, you will support two gentlemen in their own home with varying support needs, helping create a home environment that is safe, consistent, respectful, and centered around their individual needs, interests, and choices.

This position blends frontline support, team leadership, behavioural support, and administrative coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships while also taking on leadership and organizational responsibilities. You will guide and mentor the residential team, promote consistency in support approaches, and help create opportunities for the gentlemen to develop their skills, participate in activities they enjoy, and work toward their personal goals.

Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Support

· Provide daily guidance, encouragement, and mentorship to residential staff.

- Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
- Support training, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
- Model professionalism, positive support strategies, problem-solving, and person-centered practice.
- Support staff in maintaining consistency with Wellness Plans, behavioural strategies, and individual support needs.
- Help staff identify and create meaningful opportunities for the gentlemen to build skills, participate in preferred activities,



and work toward personal goals.
- Hold and participate in monthly team meetings.
- Communicate concerns, successes, and changes in support needs to the appropriate coordinator.

Frontline & Behavioural Support

- Work directly with the gentlemen, providing support tailored to their individual needs, preferences, and abilities.
- Support routines and assist with daily living activities, personal care, hygiene, toileting, meal preparation, housekeeping, shopping, and money transactions as required.
- Provide behavioural support using positive, proactive strategies and Wellness Plans.
- Remain calm, adaptable, and responsive when supporting behavioural needs or unexpected situations.
- Build trusting relationships that promote choice, independence, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour.
- Assist the gentlemen in developing and maintaining daily living and social skills.
- Plan and participate in meaningful community activities such as visiting parks, attending church, going for walks or picnics, and attending community events and concerts.
- Create opportunities for the gentlemen to explore and expand their skills, abilities, and interests both at home and in the community.
- Support medication administration and assist with medical appointments when required.
- Complete accurate daily documentation, logs, and incident reporting as required.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive home environment.

Administration & Coordination

- Complete monthly summaries, documentation, and communication logs accurately and on time.




- Coordinate scheduling to ensure consistent staff
- Track and summit expenses and receipts.
- Maintain positive, professional communication with guardians, coordinators, and external supports.
- Support consistency in following agency policies, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Hold monthly team meetings

Qualifications: · Must have basic computer skills. · Must have good written and verbal communication skills. · Must be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. · Must be adaptable, creative, and able to think outside the box. · Must be able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful work environment. · Strong problem-solving skills and initiative. · Must be comfortable providing and receiving feedback and having difficult conversations when necessary to maintain professional standards. · Must be able to have some flexibility in scheduled hours when needed. · Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. · Leadership experience is an asset. · Experience supporting individuals with Down syndrome, dementia, autism, or behavioural needs is an asset. Physical abilities include walking, using stairs, and assisting individuals as required. First Aid/CPR certificate. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle with proof of $2 million liability insurance.

Clean Criminal record check with vulnerable sector.

Job Types: Full time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $23.53-$25.87 per hour
