About the Role

A Few Good Lads is looking for an experienced Thermal Gas Cutting Torch Operator to join a construction team in Vancouver.

The successful candidate will have hands‑on experience using a thermal gas cutting torch and be comfortable working in an active construction environment. Safety, accuracy, and attention to detail are important for this position.

Key Responsibilities
Operate a thermal gas cutting torch safely and effectively
Cut and prepare metal and other materials according to job requirements
Read measurements and follow instructions and specifications
Inspect materials and completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
Set up and safely handle cutting equipment, gas cylinders, and related tools
Follow all site safety procedures and proper hot‑work practices
Maintain equipment and report any issues or defects
Keep the work area clean and organized
Work safely and effectively as part of a construction team

Requirements
Previous experience using a Thermal Gas Cutting Torch
Construction or industrial experience




Valuable understanding of protected cutting and hot‑work procedures
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Physically capable of performing manual labour
Reliable and safety‑focused
Legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications
WHMIS 2015
CSTS 2020
Previous experience with steel or metal fabrication
Fall Protection certification
Additional welding or cutting experience
