The MIABC is hiring a Legal Counsel for a one-year contract to join its legal team. This role involves handling all facets of litigation, from investigations to trials, and ensuring effective communication with members and experts. Your skill in negotiation will also play a crucial role in settling claims.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather and evaluate evidence during claim investigations
• Advise and communicate with adjusters and members
• Draft legal documents, reports, and opinions
• Conduct trials and negotiate settlements
• Facilitate educational sessions on legal topics for members
Requirements:
• 3-7 years of experience in litigation
• Eligible to practice law in British Columbia
• Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities
• Commitment to client service and teamwork
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools
