As a Drilling Assistant, you’ll support the Driller on geotechnical and environmental investigations. This is a hands-on, outdoor role with lots of travel, early mornings, and physical work in all weather. We’ll train the right person who brings hustle, safety focus, and a excellent attitude.

What You’ll Do
Set up and break down drill sites; load/unload tooling, augers, rods, core boxes, and supplies.
Handle spoils, cuttings, and sample management (labelling, logging assistance, chain of custody).
Mix/batch grout and drilling fluids; backfill/abandon holes to spec.
Spot vehicles, rig mats, and assist with rig moves (track or truck mounted).
Maintain clean, protected, and compliant work areas; perform daily housekeeping.
Complete basic paperwork: timesheets, vehicle/rig inspections, pickup manifests.
Support environmental tasks: monitoring well installation, development, decon, and waste handling.




Drive support trucks/trailers to and from sites (if licensed and competent).
Follow all procedures, PPE requirements, and direction from the Driller/Site Supervisor.

What You Bring
Must have: Valid G licence with clean abstract; ability to reliably commute to the shop for early departures.
Physical ability: Lift 50–75 lb repeatedly; bend, carry, and work on your feet 8–12 hrs/day in all weather.
Mindset: Safety-first, punctual, team-oriented, and willing to learn.
Nice to have :
DZ or AZ licence; Air Brakes (Z) endorsement
WHMIS, Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR
Construction/field or drilling experience (augers, split-spoons, Shelby tubes, core boxes)
Mechanical aptitude (basic tool use, greasing, hose fittings, troubleshooting)
