Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including cleanings, fillings, crowns, orthodontics, and other dental treatments
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology when needed
Manage patient flow by welcoming patients, updating medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic,
including treatment notes and billing information
Provide post-treatment instructions and answer patient questions with professionalism and empathy
Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and handling administrative tasks
Skills
Proven experience in dental assisting with knowledge of dental procedures and infection control protocols
Familiarity with dental management software such as Dentrix or Epic for record keeping and appointment scheduling
Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and materials is highly desirable
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, ensuring they feel secure and informed
Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry for accurate documentation
Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry or orthodontic cases is a plus
