Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and committed Associate Lawyer to join our growing defence practice. The ideal candidate has a strong courtroom presence, a passion for advocacy, and the ability to independently manage a diverse caseload from intake to trial.

Responsibilities
Handle a broad range of criminal files at all stages, from bail to trial and sentencing
Represent clients at various court levels, including Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court
Conduct legal research, draft Charter applications, submissions etc
Maintain regular client communication and manage expectations
Work collaboratively with other counsel and legal support staff
Participate in firm meetings and ongoing professional development

Qualifications
Member in positive standing with law society
Minimum 2 years of experience practicing criminal law,



with demonstrated trial experience
Strong oral and written advocacy skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a busy caseload independently
Ability to assess files critically and provide strategic advice
Experience with legal aid files and managing clients with complex needs is an asset
Multilingual candidates or those with experience in mental health or youth court are encouraged to apply

Compensation based on experience: $80,000 - $200,000

Hybrid + Option to work from home some days of the week.

Possibility to work from Toronto office as well
