Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Custodian to join our team on a maternity leave coverage basis. This vital role ensures that our facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for staff, visitors, and clients alike. As a Custodian, you will play a key part in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and facilities maintenance that support our organization’s operations.

Duties
Perform thorough cleaning of all areas within the facility, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and specialized spaces
Conduct routine commercial cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
Maintain cleanliness of floors, carpets, windows, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs needed, and ensuring safety protocols are followed
Support overall building upkeep by monitoring supply levels and requesting replenishments as necessary
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all cleaning and maintenance activities




Collaborate with team members to ensure the facility remains organized, safe, and presentable at all times

Skills
Proven experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning environments with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures
Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices to address minor repairs or reporting larger issues promptly
Excellent attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards consistently
Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance needs
A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
