Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both hospital and laboratory settings, demonstrating proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and patient care. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in collecting blood samples for diagnostic testing, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
Perform venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood specimens from patients.
Ensure proper identification of patients and labeling of samples to maintain accuracy.
Maintain a clean and organized work workplace, adhering to safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
Document all procedures accurately in accordance with medical protocols.
Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
Stay updated on medical terminology and phlebotomy best practices.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in phlebotomy preferred.
Previous experience in a hospital or laboratory setting is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to blood collection and testing.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
