Overview The Test Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving our manufacturing test processes used to produce high-quality electronic hardware products. Responsibilities also include working with our engineering team in new product introductions (NPI), and product release to full production. The Test Engineer will also help optimize production efficiency, and drive process improvements in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Test Process Development





· Develop testing processes for electronic hardware systems and PCB-based products

· Evaluate test methods and recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs

· Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements

· Support ISO 9001 quality management processes

Test Environment Development

· Develop, configure and debug test software in a Linux test environment

· Work with lead engineers to source and to purchase necessary equipment

· Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design and develop custom fixtures for test solutions

· Validate and verify test systems and create reports and test logs

· Create test design documentation to train production staff

Hardware Engineering (New Product Introduction - NPI)

· Assist lead designers with prototype validation – which includes, sourcing test equipment, preparing test plans and scripts, and preparation of cable drawings

· Collaborate with Design Engineering during product development to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Ease of Test are met

· Identify and resolve manufacturing issues before production release

Continuous Improvement

· Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities for quality, efficiency, and cost improvements

· Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives

· Reduce waste, improve workflow, and optimize production layouts

Essential Skills and Qualifications:





· 3-year College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electrical, or related discipline

· 2-3 years proven experience in a test engineering role in electronics, computer hardware, embedded systems, or high-tech manufacturing

· Intermediate level of C programming is required

· Basic knowledge in designing and developing test software

· An intermediate of Linux experience is preferred

· Experience with C++ and Qt5 framework is ideal

· Experience creating Bash and Python scripts is also beneficial

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

· Experience working with PCB assemblies, electronic hardware, and electro-mechanical products

· Knowledge of analyzing/reading electronics schematics and PCB layouts

· Experience with test and measurement instrumentation, with strong analytical skills

· Proactive approach to tasks with self-motivated initiative

· Strong communication skills with a proactive and open approach to conflict resolution

· Flexible and adaptable: Open to change and modification of tasks

· Can work well individually and as part of a team
