St. Joseph's Health Centre is seeking a Mental Health Worker for its Short Stay Unit in Toronto. This part-time permanent role involves providing exceptional care for Transitional Aged Youth facing mental health and addiction issues.
As a Mental Health Worker, you will utilize your experience in community health to support youth aged 19-29 in a newly renovated, trauma-informed setting. Your responsibilities will include team-oriented care planning, facilitating groups, and applying effective crisis intervention strategies within a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support and engage Transitional Aged Youth effectively
• Create and manage individualized care plans with the team
• Facilitate individual and group supportive therapies




• Implement crisis assessment and de-escalation techniques
• Assist in monitoring behaviours and discharge processes
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in health care; BSW preferred
• 5 years of mental health services experience required
• Skilled in trauma-informed approaches and therapy
• Proven experience in crisis intervention
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
