Job Title: Trailer Mechanic / Welder'
Company: The Collective House (recruiting on behalf of a client)
Location: Moncton, NB
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Job Overview
You know the drill. Most shops want a red seal miracle worker, pay mid-range, make you buy your own tools, and offer a "competitive benefits package" that turns out to be a discount gym membership. This isn't that.
We're recruiting for an established Canadian -based manufacturer — one of the largest trailer builders in Canada — and their shop is busy. They build and repair trailers for fleets across the continent, and they need mechanics and welders who can actually do the work, not just talk about it. If you're tired of shops that treat you like a number, here's what honest employment looks like.
What You Actually Get
- $26.53 – $34.46/hour depending on what you bring to the table
- Full Blue Cross benefits — medical, dental, the works
- Company-matching pension — because you shouldn't still be working at 65
- Retention bonus — they pay you to stay, not just to show up
- Milwaukee tools supplied by the company — your toolbox stays lighter and your wallet stays heavier
- Stable, year-round hours — no layoffs every January
What You'll Actually Do
- Inspect, repair, and weld commercial trailers (brakes, suspension, electrical, structural)
- Read work orders, fix what's broken, move to the next one
- Work with people who know the difference between a torque wrench and a crescent wrench
- Go home when the day's done — they don't glorify 60-hour weeks
What You Actually Need
- Experience repairing trailers, heavy equipment, or trucks
- Solid MIG welding skills (CWB cert is a plus, not a dealbreaker)
- A valid driver's licence and a brain you actually use
- The ability to show up, do good work, and not make the shop foreman's life harder
The Truth This isn't a startup. They're not "disrupting" anything. They're a 50+ year-old Canadian manufacturer that builds trailers that don't fall apart on the highway. Their Moncton branch is growing, their backlog is real, and they need people who want to work somewhere stable without the bureaucracy of a government job. If that sounds like you, apply. If you're just window-shopping for a counter-offer to take back to your current boss, save us both the time. How to Apply Send your resume to
[email protected] or apply directly through Indeed. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a confidential conversation, and the company name will be disclosed at that stage. The Collective House is an equal opportunity recruitment firm.
