Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the daily movement of freight and trucks within our logistics network. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, carriers, and clients, ensuring that shipments are scheduled efficiently, accurately tracked, and delivered on time. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help optimize our supply chain operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain seamless transportation workflows.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate dispatching of trucks and drivers using transportation management systems (TMS) to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and clients via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette to relay instructions and updates
- Enter shipment data accurately into systems such as AS400 and SyteLine, maintaining precise shipping & receiving records
- Monitor freight movements through analysis skills to identify delays or issues, proactively resolving scheduling conflicts or rerouting as needed




- Manage shipping schedules by analyzing supply chain requirements and coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize freight flow
- Maintain detailed documentation of dispatch activities, including inbound/outbound logs, shift reports, and incident reports
- Support shipping & receiving processes by verifying shipment details and ensuring compliance with safety standards

Experience

- Proven experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), AS400, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures
- Prior experience in a 3PL environment or freight dispatching role is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Demonstrated data entry accuracy along with analysis skills to interpret logistical data effectively
- Familiarity with SyteLine or other ERP platforms used for inventory control and shipping coordination is a plus
- Ability to perform typing tasks quickly while maintaining high accuracy in a quick-paced environment
