Our client, a growing qualified services firm, is seeking a CPA-designated accounting qualified to join its leadership team. This role combines client service, technical accounting expertise, and team leadership responsibilities within a cooperative and flexible work environment.
The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and corporate and personal tax returns for privately held businesses, while also providing mentorship, guidance, and support to junior team members. This position offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to owner-managed businesses and contribute to the ongoing development of the firm's people, processes, and client service initiatives.
Responsibilities
Review and finalize compilation and review engagement financial statements.
Prepare and review personal and corporate income tax returns.
Provide accounting, tax, and advisory services to privately held businesses.
Support the planning and execution of review engagements.
Review work prepared by junior staff and serve as a technical resource on accounting standards and tax matters.
Mentor, train, and develop team members, including CPA candidates.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Contribute to process improvements, team initiatives, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
CPA designation (or nearing completion).
3+ years of experience in public accounting (CA firm)
Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns.
Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian tax compliance.
Proficiency with common public accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Passion for client service and mentoring others.
