Qualifications
Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Animal Health Technology or related field, or a diploma or attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
Conditions related to the specific position
Eligibility to obtain a license from Public Health Agency of Canada for a Biosafety Program (Background Check).
Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) certification or equivalent (an asset);
At least two (2) years of pertinent experience (an asset);
Robust English and French oral and written competencies (to be tested);
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel (to be tested);
Experience with veterinary clinic procedures and laboratory animal procedures;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
with solid ability to deal with the public;
Ability to learn and use specialized software, namely Logivet;
Established ability to work effectively as a team member and to collaborate with colleagues, patrons, and students;
Ability to work independently and maintain safety precautions and standards;
Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
Ability to triage which clients will be accepted in the Animal Health Technology Pedagogical Clinic;
Knowledge of Biosafety and Biosafety standards and procedures, and willingness to develop professionally in this area.
