The Underwriting Assistant, Contract Surety plays a key role in supporting the Contract Surety team by coordinating account documentation, preparing security materials, maintaining accurate underwriting files, and ensuring the timely processing of bonds, policies, endorsements, and related transactions. This position requires solid attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with underwriters, brokers, and internal teams in a fast-paced workplace.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure that account management expectations are met.
- Accurate and timely preparation of account security documents.
- Maintain insurer bordereau.
- Review active files regularly to ensure all essential underwriting and security information is current and updated.
- Setup up new account files in underwriting/accounting system.
- Invoice all fees, bonds/policies and endorsements in accounting system.
- Ensure all correspondence and underwriting information is properly filed.
- Process contract status reports on a monthly basis.
- Follow-up with brokers for outstanding bonds and underwriting information.
- Other ad hoc tasks and reporting as requested.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in an administrative, underwriting support, insurance, financial services, or related role.
- Post-secondary education in a relatable field such as accounting, finance, or commerce is preferred.
- Experience in construction development with an understanding of Tarion and/or surety is an asset.
- Prior experience with Applied/EPIC is an asset.
- Must be technologically savvy and data-driven, including proficiency in Excel.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including insurance courses and certifications.

This posting is for a replacement position at RAISE. The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000.
