In this exempt, full time position, you'll oversee the Fire Prevention Branch, reporting directly to the Deputy Chief and Fire Chief. Your role will combine strategic planning, operational oversight, and direct engagement with firefighters and community stakeholders to drive effective fire prevention services.
Key functions include managing performance metrics, handling attendance, and resolving public complaints.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the Fire Prevention Branch
Ensure data quality and performance metrics management
Plan and conduct annual fire prevention inspections
Collaborate with various departments and agencies effectively
Manage record systems and time management software
Requirements:
Relevant post-secondary educational background
In-depth knowledge of up-to-date fire prevention practices
Leadership experience in a fire service or unionized setting
Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
Ability to motivate team members and drive performance
