Make an impact in child advocacy with the Lac La Ronge Indian Band as a Child Advocate Worker. Promote family unity and child safety in a supportive community setting.
The Family Advocate Worker position is full-time and based in Hall Lake, SK, working under the Prevention Coordinator. This role supports children's welfare and family services while collaborating with external partners. The candidate will implement prevention initiatives, facilitate cultural activities, and provide vital family support services to address the needs of vulnerable families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct workshops to enhance family preservation
• Organize resources for high-risk families
• Provide home visits and parent mentoring
• Implement immediate crisis interventions
• Document child protection referrals using forms
Requirements:
• Degree in Social Work or related field
• Minimum 2 years experience in Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of child protection policies
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Ability to speak Cree is an asset
