Position: Vehicle Upfitter Helper/Trainee.

We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Vehicle Upfitter Helper/Trainee.

Working alongside experienced technicians, you will learn how to install, troubleshoot, and repair emergency and utility vehicle equipment. Most work is performed on light-duty fleet vehicles, with occasional work on heavy-duty vehicles.

This is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, electronics, tools, and hands-on projects. Previous automotive or electrical experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of experienced technicians, you will assist with:

- Installing and servicing emergency lighting, warning lights, traffic advisors, and scene lighting
- Installing sirens, equipment controllers, radios, antennas, cell boosters, and mobile computer systems
- Installing prisoner and K9 transport systems, equipment consoles, weapon mounts, storage systems, and push bumpers
- Installing aftermarket accessories such as tonneau covers, bed slides, mud flaps, and running boards




- Troubleshooting and repairing automotive electrical and electronic equipment
- Safely removing and reinstalling vehicle trim, interior panels, and body components
- Documenting completed work and maintaining accurate records
- Keeping the shop and work areas clean, safe, and organized
- Monitoring shop supplies and maintaining tool accountability
- Participating in training, quality-improvement initiatives, and other shop activities

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:

- A genuine interest in vehicles, automotive electronics, and hands-on work
- Some automotive, mechanical, electrical, or electronics experience—an asset but not required
- Basic experience using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- A dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious approach
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
- The physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- The ability to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States for training, trade shows, or customer visits
- The ability to satisfy job-related background screening and bonding requirements

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
