Our financial services client is seeking a Data Solutions Developer IV (8-10 years of experience) to develop and maintain large-scale data processing systems using SQL, Scala, Spark, AKKA/PEKKO, and data modeling

This role supports business-as-usual data initiatives within a banking environment as part of a 15-developer team. The position focuses on large-scale data processing, data pipeline design, data aggregation and transformation, and data quality initiatives using SQL, Scala, Spark, and AKKA/PEKKO. The engagement is a maternity leave coverage contract running through September 2027 with a hybrid onsite schedule in Toronto.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain databases and large-scale processing systems for data collection, storage, and retrieval
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data requirements and pipeline design
- Implement data privacy and security measures to support compliance standards and sensitive information protection
- Optimize data retrieval and develop dashboards, reports, and visualization tools for end-users
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to identify data-related issues and maintain data quality and integrity
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing data solutions based on industry trends and advancements
