Intimate Interactive Advertising is looking for a motivated PHP Developer and Linux system administrator to add to its growing team.

The candidate will be responsible for managing both back-end services and data with a primary focus on the development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to API requests. Also, they will be responsible for managing virtual machines, deploying new operating system instances, and troubleshooting server-side issues. A good understanding of Linux system administration is required.

Applicants must have excellent communication and time management skills, be able to work efficiently in a team setting, and manage multiple projects at once.

This is a full-time position. The PHP Developer will report directly to the Technology Manager.

Responsibilities:
Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
Integration of data storage solutions (MySQL, CouchBase, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc)




Provide excellent communication and timely responses to client inquiries and requests via phone, email and direct contact

Qualifications / Desired Experience:
4+ years of PHP experience
3+ years of Linux administration experience
Strong knowledge of object-oriented PHP
Experience with Laravel or similar framework
Understanding of RESTful web services
Knowledge of common object-oriented design patterns
Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
Understanding of database optimization challenges and techniques
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Experience with message queues and multi-threaded programming are assets
