Contribute to Indigenous Justice Centres as an Indigenous Community Support Worker based in Chilliwack, BC. Provide essential support and resources to facilitate client healing and legal processes.
In this full-time position reporting to the Legal Supports Supervisor, you will empower Indigenous clients by helping them access crucial services and support networks. Your role involves cooperative work with the legal team to ensure culturally safe practices and effective case management. Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach are vital to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate on legal strategies with the service team
• Track and inform clients about housing and treatment options
• Assist in form completion and documentation gathering
• Maintain communication and connections with clients
• Compile resource information for IJC staff
Requirements:
• Minimum 1-4 years involvement in Indigenous communities
• At least 3 years working with social agencies
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices
• Strong MS Office Suite proficiency
• Valid BC Driver’s License and recent background check
Engage deeply with Indigenous clients, offering support and resources that facilitate their legal journeys toward healing.
