Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Position Description
The logistics assistant manager’s role is focused on supporting the logistics manager with leading our logistics team to meet business supply needs in a timely manner.



This includes supporting with daily tasks to ensure seamless product flow to customers/vendors as well as closely working with the logistics coordinator to ensure ongoing compliance with import/export permits.

Key Accountabilities
Supporting the Logistics manager with:

Scheduling of freight carriers for shipping/receiving

Managing daily shipping/receiving schedules

Sourcing carriers and negotiate freight rates

Coordinating new vendor setup in Terrapure systems

Logging deliveries/shipments in appropriate systems

Maintaining accurate costs and monitors price changes within Terrapure systems

Partnering closely with the Commercial group to address inventory and shipping challenges

Identifying and fixing issues in a timely manner

Assisting with problem resolution on damages, incorrect shipments and packaging issues

Tracking freight metrics within SharePoint

Coordinating year-end governmental reporting with customers

Managing logistics staff as designated

Other duties as assigned

Supporting the Logistics coordinator with:

Managing transboundary permits for Terrapure

Governmental reporting as required

Other duties as assigned

Experience, Skills & Education:

Post secondary education within related field

Minimum 3 years logistics experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Working knowledge of SAP

Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines

Strong communication skills (fluency in French is an asset)
