Raise is currently hiring a Senior IT Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
About The Role The Senior IT Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of cybersecurity projects and initiatives, working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, security leaders, and external vendors.
The portfolio includes a combination of newly initiated initiatives and projects already underway, including cybersecurity program deliverables and technical security initiatives. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of projects already in progress and driving them through successful completion.
What You'll Do Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of cybersecurity projects and initiatives.
Take ownership of projects at various stages, including transitioning and managing initiatives already underway.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure clear accountability for project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and risks.
Manage cybersecurity initiatives involving areas such as penetration testing, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and other security-related deliverables.
Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to define requirements, manage dependencies, and resolve issues.
Provide project governance, status reporting, risk management, and communication to project sponsors and senior stakeholders.
Manage and negotiate changes to scope, budget, timelines, and deliverables.
Support initiatives involving external vendors and system integrators, including coordinating vendor deliverables and supporting procurement of external services where required.
Apply strong communication and stakeholder management skills to support change management and organizational adoption.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the Enterprise Security organization,
including cybersecurity and, where required, physical security teams.
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and proactively develop mitigation and resolution strategies.
Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with organizational standards and targeted completion timelines.
Provide guidance and support to other project managers and project delivery teams as required.
May take on program-level responsibilities depending on the initiative portfolio.
What We're Looking For 10+ years of progressive IT Project Management experience, preferably delivering complex technical or cybersecurity initiatives.
Demonstrated experience managing cybersecurity or information security projects from initiation through completion.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and the ability to work effectively with technical security teams.
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
Penetration testing
Cybersecurity advisory/consulting
Security programs or technical security initiatives
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior leaders and project sponsors.
Experience managing projects that involve external vendors, system integrators, or third-party service providers.
Solid organizational, problem-solving, risk management, and negotiation skills.
Ability to take ownership of projects already in progress, quickly understand the current state, and drive them toward completion.
Strong collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across technical, business, cybersecurity, and other security stakeholders.
Experience with organizational change management (OCM),
communications, or stakeholder adoption is an asset.
Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project delivery methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
PMP or equivalent project/program management certification is preferred.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a senior IT Project Manager with a strong cybersecurity background who can combine project delivery expertise with enough technical understanding to effectively manage security initiatives and communicate with technical stakeholders.
The successful candidate will also be a strong communicator and collaborative team player who can manage multiple priorities, work with vendors and stakeholders, and take ownership of initiatives through completion
