AWS AppSync is a fully managed, serverless service for building GraphQL and Pub/Sub APIs that securely connect applications to data and events at scale. Developers use AppSync to bring together data from sources like Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and HTTP endpoints behind a single API endpoint, and to deliver real-time updates to connected clients through managed WebSocket subscriptions.
We're looking for engineers who can independently design and deliver features and components of AWS AppSync. As a Software Development Engineer, you'll own the design, implementation, testing, and operation of meaningful parts of the service, make sound technical decisions, and contribute to the team's architecture and best practices.
Key Responsibilities Design, build, test, and operate features and components of AWS AppSync
Own delivery of well-scoped projects end to end, from design through production
Contribute to the team's technical designs and decisions through design and code reviews
Improve operational excellence, security, and quality in the areas you own
Work with senior engineers to deliver features to customers around the globe




Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Compensation Base salary range: $114,800 – $191,800 CAD annually. Total compensation may include sign-on payments and RSUs. Perks include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, life & AD&D;), RRSP, DPSP, paid time off, and wellness resources.
3+ years of professional software development experience; 2+ years of system design or architecture experience; proficiency in at least one programming language; preferred: 3+ years of full SDLC experience, bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
