Cornerstone Animal Hospital in Burlington, Ontario, is hiring a part-time Veterinary Receptionist and Animal Care Assistant for a hybrid role combining front-desk client relations with hands-on patient care.

Front-desk responsibilities:

- Greet clients and their pets in a friendly, compassionate, and professional manner.
- Promptly handle incoming calls, emails, and client inquiries, and manage communications regarding follow-ups, test results, and reminders as directed.
- Schedule veterinary appointments and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Handle prescription and food orders, including preparing items for client pickup as directed by the veterinary team.

Animal Care Assistant responsibilities:

- Provide compassionate daily care to hospitalized patients and monitor animals according to instructions provided by the veterinary team.
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats for examinations, treatments, and procedures as directed by the veterinary team.
- Prepare, clean,



and sanitize examination rooms, kennels, equipment, and common areas while managing animal waste, laundry, and general clinic tidying.
- Stock examination rooms, treatment areas, reception supplies, and other hospital inventory.

The position requires a professional demeanour, strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced workplace, the ability to work independently, and the physical ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds. Pay is based on experience, with a minimum of 20 hours per week plus occasional Saturdays (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM). Prior customer service or veterinary clinic experience is preferred.
