We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Veterinary Hospital Attendant who takes pride in cleanliness and organization. This role is essential in helping our medical team provide outstanding patient care.

Position Summary The Veterinary Hospital Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized veterinary hospital. The successful candidate will ensure all treatment areas, exam rooms, kennels, surgical spaces, and common areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.

This position is physically active and ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy and working behind the scenes to make a meaningful difference.

Responsibilities

Hospital Cleaning & Sanitation

- Clean and disinfect small animal treatment areas
- Clean and disinfect large animal treatment areas
- Clean and disinfect examination rooms between appointments
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and runs
- Clean and disinfect the dental suite following clinic protocols
- Clean and disinfect the surgical suite following clinic protocols
- Mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize hospital surfaces, floors, baseboards, and doors
- Clean windows, doors, countertops, and waiting areas
- Restock paper products, soaps, disinfectants, and cleaning supplies
- Empty garbage, recycling,



and biohazard waste according to protocols
- Launder & fold towels, bedding, blankets, and surgical linens
- Maintain laundry throughout the day

Outdoor Maintenance

- Maintain a clean and presentable outdoor environment around the clinic
- Regularly pick up and remove animal feces from outdoor areas, walkways, and runs
- Remove weeds from round pen and side walk
- Sweep sidewalks, entrances, and other exterior areas as needed
- Empty outdoor garbage and maintain clean garbage areas

Facility Organization

- Keep treatment and storage areas organized
- Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when supplies are low
- Assist with maintaining an uncluttered and efficient hospital
- Help prepare rooms for procedures and appointments
- Help unpack inventory orders when appropriate

Animal Care Support

- Walk hospitalized dogs as directed
- Refresh food and water for hospitalized patients when instructed
- Assist with protected animal handling when appropriate
- Report any concerns regarding patient comfort or cleanliness to the veterinary team

Safety

- Follow all infection control and biosecurity protocols
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and disinfectants




- Maintain confidentiality regarding clients and patients

Qualifications

- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is considered an asset
- Experience working with animals is an asset but not required
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
- WHIMIS is an asset
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and working in indoor and outdoor environments
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
