Cube Business Media is a recognized leader in the B2B conference industry that owns and operates 12 annual events across Canada, spanning 4 distinct brands. We bring together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and founders with the ecosystem players that help them grow and succeed. Our portfolio includes The Business Transitions Forum, TechExit.io, SAAS NORTH, and Tech Talent North.
Cube Business Media is unique in the events industry as we have built many of our brands from the ground up – taking bold, original conference ideas from concept to execution. Our mighty team encapsulates a rare breed of passionate customer-obsessed event enthusiasts who thrive on creating meaningful, high-impact experiences.
The Role: You will play an integral role in building the content for The Business Transitions Forum and executing on that vision by sourcing, selecting, and securing speakers to build the best possible conference programs. The Business Transitions Forum is a one-day event that runs across multiple Canadian cities, bringing together business owners, entrepreneurs, and the advisors, investors, and acquirers who help them navigate the sale, exit, and transition of their companies.
Above all, you’ll be accountable for three things: the quality of the program (a coherent, timely, well-balanced agenda that reflects what the market wants to hear this year), relevant quality speakers, and hitting every milestone deadline – the dates that Marketing, Sales, and Operations plan their own work around.
Beyond your own events, you will also lead and support Cube’s contract Content Directors who program our other conferences – mentoring on best practices, and sharing the tools, templates, and playbooks that keep content processes consistent and on-track across the portfolio.
This is a hands-on, execution-driven role that collaborates closely with internal marketing and operations teams, as well as external partners including steering committee members, sponsors, and key stakeholders. We’re looking for a motivated, proactive leader who understands the world of business owners and the professional community – advisors, dealmakers, and capital partners – that surrounds a business transition, and who can translate that understanding into compelling, timely programming. Periodic travel within Canada is required.
This role reports to the President. This role is 3x a week in-person at our North Vancouver office (non-negotiable).
What You Will Do: You’ll own conference programming from concept to execution, ensuring every event delivers exceptional, timely and relevant content for a standout attendee experience. Responsibilities include,

but are not limited to:
Suggest, select and lead the steering committees and conference chairs
Research and develop compelling session topics and identify must-have speakers using industry feedback, surveys, newsworthy companies and individuals, and historical conference insights
Shape and evolve the conference program vision, ensuring content remains relevant, timely, and high-impact
Own the programming workback schedule, delivering each version of the program (conference overview, draft, and final) on time so every other team member can execute against it successfully
Speaker & Stakeholder Management Source, secure, and confirm speakers while building and maintaining strong relationships throughout the process
Hand confirmed speakers cleanly to the operations team to begin onboarding, keeping the confirmation and logistics conversations distinct
Lead speaker preparation calls to ensure speakers are aligned, confident, and set up for success
Collaborate with sponsors to authentically integrate committed speaking opportunities into the program
Act as the primary point of contact for speakers leading up to and during the event
Manage, mentor, and support Content Directors responsible for programming our other events, ensuring timely delivery of assets across our portfolio
Serve as the central point of coordination for programming best practices, timelines, and speaker-management processes across events
Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with the marketing team to plan major program and speaker announcements that fuel campaign messaging and meet all programming milestones
Work with internal marketing and operations teams to ensure all program-related details are shared accurately and on time
Maintain ongoing communication with the operations team regarding confirmed speakers, sessions, and schedule updates
Event Design & Experience Create and maintain the conference Program Overview
Finalize the agenda flow, timing, and schedule in collaboration with the operations team
Support the execution of content-driven features such as sponsor-led breakfasts, pre-show workshops, roundtables, and other special sessions, as required
Create Scripts for MC(s), Chair(s),

Room Monitors and Moderators
On-Site Execution Be On-Site During Show Days including move-in and move-out (if required)
Lead on-site speaker coordination alongside assistants and volunteers
This Role is For You if You: Have 3+ years experience in conference programming and content development, including experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating others
Run your work to a deadline-driven, milestone-based schedule and treat those dates as promises to the rest of the team
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment and are naturally self-motivated, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines
Bring strong copywriting and verbal communication skills to everything you touch
Excel at building relationships and connecting with people at all levels
Learn quickly, take initiative, and aren’t afraid to bring fresh ideas to the table
Want to be part of a small but mighty team where your contributions truly matter
Are deeply familiar with the world of business owners, entrepreneurs, and the advisory and investment community that supports a business sale or transition
Bonus Points If You: Are familiar with marketing, communications, and project management tools, as well as the Microsoft Office suite
Have existing connections across the entrepreneurial, M&A;, advisory, and private capital communities in Canada
Are deeply familiar with the Canadian startup and tech ecosystem
Bring a genuine passion for entrepreneurship, tech and live events

Your work actually matters. Every person here has a seat at the table and a direct impact on what we build and how we grow. No being “just another employee”.
