This critical full-time role reports to the Vice President of Student Success, focusing on implementing the Maajiishkaadaa Indigenization strategy. The successful candidate will leverage traditional knowledge and community ties to influence college policies and strategies significantly. This position demands deep respect for Indigenous cultures and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and renew Indigenous Strategies at Georgian College
• Advise academic leaders on integrating Indigenous knowledge
• Support development of Indigenous training for staff and students
• Foster partnerships with Indigenous communities and educational partners
• Actively participate in cultural events representing Georgian
Requirements:
• Master’s degree and 9+ years in leadership roles required
• Proven collaborative leadership in Indigenous education initiatives
• Familiarity with Indigenous governmental structures and local cultures
• Robust data analysis and interpretation skills
• Expert communication and mediation skills
Drive systemic change and reconciliation efforts to make Georgian College a leader in Indigenous education and community engagement.
