In this role, you will work directly with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal functioning through targeted interventions and assessments. A minimum of two years of experience in mental health settings, combined with solid knowledge of psychotherapeutic methods, is essential. The role emphasizes independence and clinical judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with clients to create effective treatment plans
• Provide assessments and evaluations in various settings
• Engage in individual and group therapy sessions
• Educate families and caregivers about mental health
• Supervise occupational therapy students and assistants
Requirements:
• Graduate from a recognized Occupational Therapy school
• Valid membership with the Nova Scotia Occupational Therapy Regulator
• 2+ years of mental health experience required
• Knowledge of DSM and counselling techniques
• Skills in functional assessments and report writing
