Make a difference as a Victim Support Worker with the Vancouver Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit. Provide critical support for survivors of sexual violence in a collaborative workplace.
As a crucial member of the Victim Services team, you will assist clients navigating the aftermath of sexual assault cases. The role emphasizes specialized support, safety planning, and advocacy throughout the justice process, helping clients recover from trauma. Your skills in crisis intervention and client-centered service will be essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with detectives in the Sexual Crimes Unit
• Implement safety plans for victims and survivors
• Provide compassionate counseling to clients
• Maintain contact with community service providers
• Assist with crisis interventions and risk assessments
Requirements:
• B.S.W. or relevant B.A. in related fields
• Minimum two years of experience in support roles
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system
• Ability to manage confidential information
