Under the direction of the Team Lead of HR Operations, the HR Administrator – Leave and Benefits, is responsible for the administration of annual leave entitlements and Group LTD Insurance Plans for all employees identified under the applicable portfolio as determined by the Supervisor.

This temporary role is a great fit for someone who is deadline-driven as there is a high volume of weekly data entry work. This person will have exceptional oral and written communication skills, is highly organized and detail-oriented, and has the ability to prioritize and multitask.

Job Description:





Responsible for entering and adjusting medical leave absences in Apply To Education

Allocate and adjust absence entitlements for new hires and position/FTE changes

Responsible for the administration of LTD benefits premiums for all staff within the portfolio

Prepare attendance reports

Advise employees on extended medical leave of their sick leave balance and the process for applying for LTD

Liaise with Insurance Companies and complete Employer forms

Responsible for the bi-weekly import of all absence data from Apply To Education to K212

Responsible for reviewing vacation balances and managing the annual vacation payout process

Respond to inquiries from employees, supervisors, union representatives, and outside agencies

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or other post secondary education in a related field

3 years of related experience

Strong understanding of Google sheets and Excel using functions, filters, data sorts and pivot tables

Demonstrated attention to detail

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Demonstrated customer service focus

Robust analytical and time management skills

Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

In addition, the following will be considered an asset:

CHRP/CPHR designation

Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS) to access, input and compile data

Experience with the Google Suite of Applications (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Sites, Drive, Email, Calendar, etc)

Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Labour Relations Act and Service Canada Programs

Previous school board experience

Experience using K212, Laserfiche and myOCSB and familiar with Crystal reporting

This is a temporary full time (1.0 FTE)



position with an annual salary range of $71,312 - $80,595 . A pension package is also available.

The anticipated start date will be as soon as possible until approximately October 30, 2026. There is a possibility this assignment may end early.
