VICTIM SERVICE WORKER POSITION

Location: The B.C. Society for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse

3126 West Broadway, Vancouver

Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week

Health Insurance: After Insurer Probation Period

Vacation: 2 weeks paid per year

Start date: ASAP, Sept 2026

Wage: $35.50 / h

ABOUT THE AGENCY:

The BCSMSSA is a registered charity / non-profit dedicated to providing therapy and Victim Services to male-identifying individuals that have experienced sexual or domestic abuse / violence. People of all backgrounds and cultures are encouraged to apply.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Victim Service Worker provides non-judgmental and professional support to male survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. The chosen candidate will provide services intended to minimize the impact of crime and trauma on victims, and will serve as a frontline worker to help assist in the clients' recovery processes.

The Victim Service Worker will be on the Frontline, meaning answering the phone, responding to email inquiries, and opening and closing the clinic.

Their work involves working closely with male-identifying clients age 18+ from all demographics, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds. In addition to conducting intakes for new clients, the Victim Service Worker will collaborate with community partners to provide support for clients throughout the Criminal Justice System process.

The Victim Service Worker will also be working closely with our team of in-house licensed clinical therapists, participate in monthly case-consultations, and help with in-house projects.





The position requires the candidate to be on-site during the work hours.

RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum 2 years working with individuals who have experienced abuse / trauma.
- Recent experience with, and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System an asset.
- In-House training will be provided to the chosen candidate.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Diploma in a related Social Services field or two years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related Social Science program.
- Vulnerable sector criminal record check (mandatory)
- Competency with Word, Excel, Adobe, Jane (an asset)
