About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with persons with disabilities to help them overcome barriers to employment, build meaningful career paths, and achieve greater independence. You'll provide individualized counselling, develop tailored intervention plans, and connect clients with the community resources and supports they need to succeed.
What You'll Do
- Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand employment history, educational background, career aspirations, and individual challenges
- Prepare case histories, assessments, progress reports, follow-up reports, and court reports
- Identify barriers to employment specific to each client and provide support with job readiness skills, job search strategies, résumé writing, and interview preparation
- Develop and implement individualized counselling and intervention programs that help clients define and work toward their goals
- Administer and interpret assessments designed to evaluate client interests, aptitudes, and abilities
- Research and communicate labour market information including job openings, entry requirements, and skill demands
- Support established workers dealing with job dissatisfaction, mid-career transitions, and workplace changes, including strategies for job retention and internal advancement
- Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling approaches and track client outcomes
- Liaise with community agencies and partners to identify, coordinate,
and refer clients to additional or alternative services
- Assess client needs related to rehabilitation, financial aid, and further training
What You Bring
- Experience or background in vocational rehabilitation, particularly working with persons with disabilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- A valid driver's licence and access to your own vehicle
- Ability to obtain security clearances including bondability, enhanced reliability clearance, criminal record check, and vulnerable sector check
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A client-centred approach with strong interpersonal awareness and sound judgement
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and competing priorities
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
- Dependability, flexibility, initiative, and a firm commitment to values and ethics

Eligibility Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada. This includes Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and temporary residents holding a valid work permit.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
