Dundas Conservatory of Music is looking for a voice teacher to give one-on-one lessons to students of all ages and levels. We’re looking for someone with strong vocal skills, who communicates clearly and knows how to get students excited about singing!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver voice lessons tailored to each student’s needs and level.
- Teach proper vocal technique, breath control, pitch accuracy, diction, and musical interpretation.
- Introduce students to vocal exercises, repertoire across genres, and performance practices.
- Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and examinations as needed.
- Give regular, constructive feedback to students and parents on progress and areas to work on.
- Keep a supportive, positive space that builds a love of singing and a commitment to growth.
- Handle any concerns that come up with professionalism and care.
Qualifications:
- Completed, or currently pursuing, a music Degree or Diploma with a focus on Voice from a recognized University, College,
or Conservatory.
- At least 1 year of experience teaching voice to beginner and intermediate students, both adults and children.
- Knowledge of vocal pedagogy, warm-up techniques, and a broad repertoire for various levels.
- Able to accompany students on piano or provide backing tracks (preferred, not required).
Schedule:
- Lessons run on Saturdays plus one additional weekday.
- School-year commitment, September through June.
