Make an impact with our Assurance & Accounting - Public Companies team as a Senior Accountant. This diverse team of professionals are dedicated to exceeding clients’ unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. Responsibilities
Conduct review, and audit engagements
Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
Manage multiple files simultaneously
Perform walk-throughs with clients for various business processes (including accounts receivable and revenue, accounts payable and expenses, capital assets, payroll, and financial reporting)
Summarize clients’ current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports
Assess and assure appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and prepaid expenses
Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
Develop effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities
Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills And Experience
CPA designation
2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
Extensive knowledge of Canadian audit and accounting standards: Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and IFRS® Accounting Standards (IFRS), respectively
Knowledge of US audit and accounting standards: standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), respectively
Experience working with accounting and tax software

The annual salary range for this position is: $60,000 - $90,000. Compensation is determined based on individual skills and relevant experience.
