About Us Job Description Transportfinished goods and raw materials over land to andfrom manufacturing plants or retail anddistribution centers
Followinstructions; locate and read location and roadmaps
Inspect vehiclesfor mechanical items and safety issues and performpreventative maintenance
Load and unloadcargo
Plan routes andmeet delivery schedules
Pick up goods andmaterials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them asinstructed
Document and logwork/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retainfuel/toll receipts
Report road incidentsto the dispatcher
Responsible forbasic vehicle maintenance; comply with all protected workpractices, policies, and processes at alltimes
Comply with truckdriving rules and regulations (size, weight, routedesignations, parking and break periods)
as well as withcompany policies and procedures
Maintain a positiveattitude with customers
Complete and verifypaperwork for accuracy
Maneuver trucksinto loading or unloadingpositions
Requirements High schooldiploma
Proven workexperience as a Truck Driver
Traffic laws/ DOTregulations/ driving knowledge
Hands on experiencewith electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CBetc)
Must pass drug andalcohol test
Pallet jackexperience required; forklift experience preferred
Ability to drivelong hours and travel regularly
Must have cleandriving record
Ability to lift 80pounds repeatedly throughout day
Extensive knowledgeof applicable truck driving rules andregulations
Adaptability andforesight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weatherconditions etc)
Listening and verbalcommunication skills
