Senior Business Systems Analyst
Location: Toronto, ON – (Onsite – 5 days per week)
Pay Rate: $74.90/hr - $86.58/hr
Contract Length: 4 Months with possibility for extension
We at Raise are hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst for one of our top clients. After establishing themselves as an industry leader, they’re now expanding their team to meet rising demand.
Responsibilities: Strategic Advisory and Stakeholder Partnership – Be the strategic voice on agile teams by advising delivery teams and business leaders on scope, priorities, risks, and solution considerations. Build strong relationships across business, product, operations, technology, risk, SMEs, and working group members to drive alignment, informed decisions, and successful outcomes.
Requirements and Systems Analysis – Work closely with business partners, product owners, SMEs, and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document complex business, functional, integration, data, and non-functional requirements. Facilitate sessions and workshops to elicit requirements from high-level features and capabilities and translate them into clear artifacts such as user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data flows, and traceability documentation.
Solution Design and Delivery Support – Support and influence solution design discussions to ensure solutions are client-focused, aligned to business needs, and compliant with technology standards, quality expectations, and control requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documentation, clarify scope, assess impacts and dependencies, and where applicable perform detailed analysis of vendor solutions against business requirements and technology standards.
Must Have Requirement:



8+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience.
Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments
Robust requirements elicitation and documentation experience.
Experience with process modelling, user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements traceability, and testing support.
Strong understanding of enterprise applications, system integrations, APIs, messaging, and batch processing.
Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, SQL, and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into clear, actionable deliverables.
Experience within banking, payments, or fin-tech
Knowledge of the payments domain, SWIFT, including ISO 20022, real-time payments, fraud/risk controls, and resiliency
Nice to Have: Familiarity with mainframe platforms.
