Jim Pattison Volvo Cars North Vancouver is looking an experienced Service Technician to become part of our team.
In this position, you will play an important part in inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Volvo’s high standards of quality and performance
As a Volvo Technician, you will use your technical expertise and attention to detail to deliver reliable repairs and exceptional workmanship. Your commitment to quality service will play an important role in creating a positive customer experience and maintaining the high standards our customers expect from the Volvo brand.
Pay Range: $44.00–$51.00 per hour flat rate, depending on OEM training, with earning potential of $60.00 per hour based on productivity and proficiency
A Day in the Life
Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements
Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team
Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work
Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition
Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling
Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information
Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment
What We’re Looking For
Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification or currently in the process of challenging it
Prior dealership experience is highly preferred
Previous experience as an automotive technician is required
A valid BC Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required
Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail
Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role
Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness
Ability to work in an automotive shop setting
Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays
Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust
Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment
Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation)
