The Uterine Health Research Laboratory at UBC seeks a skilled Bioinformatics Research Assistant. This position focuses on data analysis for endometrial cancer research and requires expertise in computational genomics.

Your role will involve analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, performing SNV calling, and developing reproducible workflows. This position is integral to enhancing understanding of the vaginal microbiome's role in cancer detection, providing a unique chance to contribute to pioneering research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Aid in high-throughput data processing
• Conduct SNV calling and microbiome analysis
• Evaluate and benchmark bioinformatics tools
• Assist in workflow development using Bash and Snakemake
• Compile findings and prepare reports

Requirements:
• Two years of relevant experience required
• Bachelor’s in bioinformatics or related disciplines preferred
• Familiarity with SNV calling concepts
• Strong Bash scripting skills
