This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. The Senior Database Administrator will report directly to the Director of Infrastructure Project and Database Systems.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for databases in conjunction with data owners and department managersWork with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and proceduresDesign and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assetsConfigure and design database architecture to scale and adapt to changing Operational and platform technologies (e.G. automation, diverse platform, cloud, etc.)Ensure that existing and planned implementations are consistent and compliant with applicable security and regulatory policies and directives.Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development effortsCreate models for new database development and/or changes to existing onesRespond to and resolve database access and performance issuesMonitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvementsMonitor,



optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systemsPlan and coordinate data migrations between systemsEstablish appropriate end-user database access control levelsImplement corporate policy and audits; develop, publish, enforce and maintain standards and proceduresManage development, test and production environments; perform administrative functions; maintain documentationDesign, create and maintain database structures; review application design and SQL codeDesign, test and implement backup/recovery strategies and contingency plansMonitor, analyze and report on availability, performance and resource consumptionAssess capacity and make recommendations on disk and server sizing based on projected growthPlan, test and implement software upgrades; monitor alerts; administer licenses; interface with vendorsRemain current with industry and product direction; evaluate recent technologies and product features; make recommendations asto how Tangerine can benefitTroubleshoot problems; provide database problem resolution assistance to IT staffProvide day-to-day consultancy and support to IT staff; act as backup for otherDatabase Systems staffMonitor daily operations; log issues and ensure resolutionOther duties as assignedSkillsUniversity or College Degree or equivalent experience8+ years of experience as a DBA5+ years experience administering Oracle databases3+ years of SQL coding experienceExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentExperience on Redis Enterprise will be an added advantageExperience on Qlik Replicate (Attunity) will be an added advantageExposure to GCP database services such as AlloyDB or Cloud SQL is an added advantageSuperior working knowledge of Oracle database products and the SQL languageProven experience designing, deploying,



and administering highly available and resilient database systems including hands-on experience with Dataguard and Disaster Recovery administration.Experience on database duplication and standby database with RMANExperience on migrating to multi-tenant architecture (CDB/PDB)Strong working knowledge of Oracle wallet, SSL and TLS connectionsWorking knowledge on data encryption (i.E.
