Job Details
Position: Inventory Associate
Company and location: Stratum Canada, Oshawa, ON
Employment type: Permanent, full time
Hours worked: 37.5 hours/week,(Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 4:00pm), additional hours as required

This position reviews and analyzes inventory for an organization that holds a Medical Device Establishment License (MDEL) and Drug Establishment License (DEL). Duties include keeping track of goods and supplies in the warehouse, ensuring inventory is accounted for and managed; finding process optimizations and efficiencies, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
General Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Warehouse Organization
Organizing warehouse stock and maintaining general warehouse order and cleanliness
Performing ongoing stock rotation to preserve first in-first out process
Conducting regular cycle counts and updating inventory software to reflect actual on hand values and investigating discrepancies as necessary
Monitoring inventory for expiring and expired products, ensuring such products are marked and removed from stock in a timely and appropriate manner
Returning any damaged or expired products for credit to wholesalers or manufacturers within an acceptable timeframe and verifying credit is received
Preserving cold chain for temperature sensitive medications by adhering to best practices when handling these products and monitoring their storage conditions in the warehouse
Other administrative work as required
Inventory
Working with other operations team members to set minimum on hand quantities for items in inventory and adapting the same in response to changing needs as necessary
Contacting various manufacturers and suppliers to source products, place orders,
and inquire on statusof placed orders
Receiving, stocking, and organizing shipment materials in the warehouse and other departments
Reviewing upcoming stock needs and placed orders to ensure adequate quantities will be available of prescription and non-prescription medications and supplies
Ensuring any back ordered products are addressed in a timely manner, helping to source alternative suppliers or products as needed
Maintaining accurate inventory records in appropriate software (ie Zoho), including but not limited to entering and receiving purchase orders, initiating and/or receiving stock transfers, ensuring correct and appropriate tracking of batches
Reconciling and approving purchasing invoices, updating product details and pricing in inventory software (ie Zoho) to reflect changes on an ongoing basis
Completing frequent counts of high-cost inventory and immediately investigating discrepancies
Working within an ISO 5 environment to repackage products, as required
Ensure all inventory items, including medical devices, are stored and handled in compliance with Medical Device Establishment License (MDEL) and Drug Establishment License (DEL) regulations
Prepare and prime Credo Cubes for cold chain deliveries, ensuring that temperature-sensitive medical devices are stored and transported within required temperature ranges
Repackaging products into different pack sizes as needed
Transporting material within the warehouse to other departments,
loading docks and/or delivery vehicles using hand trucks and carts while observing all safety procedures
Coordinating disposal of medical waste by ensuring proper handling and packaging of used sharps containers and medical waste bins while adhering to all safety requirements and arranging for timely pick up
Qualifications
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multiple demands
An analytical mind, able to interpret and analyze large amounts of data with attention to detail
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Hardworking and reliable
Familiarity with Zoho Inventory an asset
Familiarity with Medical Device Establishment License (MDEL) and Drug Establishment License (DEL) regulations an asset
Experience in GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred
Experience in ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 beneficial
Knowledge of cold chain logistics and temperature-sensitive product handling is an asset
Education
Completion of Post-secondary required
Specific Working Conditions or Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry products up to 25-50 lbs
