Valdek Construction specializes in home additions, basement renovations, and full home remodels across Winnipeg. We're looking for a Junior Carpenter who has a solid foundation in residential construction, takes pride in quality work, and is eager to learn from experienced Carpenters.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of renovation projects while working alongside an experienced team. As your skills and confidence grow, there is a transparent path to take on more responsibility and advance within the company.

What You'll Be Doing

Assisting with residential renovations, remodels, additions, and basement projects

Performing demolition and site preparation

Assisting with framing walls, floors, and other structural components

Installing insulation, drywall, trim, doors, cabinetry, shelving, and finishing hardware

Taking accurate measurements and preparing materials for installation

Reading and following construction drawings with support from senior team members





Safely operating and maintaining hand tools and power tools

Keeping jobsites clean, organized, and protected

Loading, unloading, and organizing materials

Supporting experienced Carpenters with daily project tasks

Communicating professionally with homeowners and team members when needed

Taking care of company tools, equipment, and vehicles

What We Offer

$20-$28/hour , based on experience and skill level

Full-time, year-round employment

Interior renovation work throughout the winter

Early Fridays: 9-hour days Monday through Thursday and a half-day Friday

Weekends are generally yours. Occasional weekend work may be required to meet a deadline, but it is rare and planned in advance.

75% employer-paid health, dental, and health practitioner coverage after 90 days

Paid sick days

$500 annual tool allowance after 90 days

Who We're Looking For

Has 2-3 years of hands-on carpentry or residential construction experience

Has experience with residential renovations, remodeling, or home construction





Has a solid understanding of basic carpentry techniques and construction practices

Is comfortable using common hand tools and power tools safely

Can take direction, ask questions, and apply feedback

Takes pride in producing quality work

Is dependable, punctual, and ready to contribute each day

Works well as part of a team

Has a positive attitude and is willing to take on a variety of tasks

Is a registered apprentice or interested in continuing an apprenticeship

Has a valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
