What You'll Do Exercises independent judgment when completing complex month-end close activities, ensuring the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple entities and currencies
Proactively identifies process inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and recommends solutions utilizing subject matter expertise
Investigates account variances and develops well-supported conclusions and corrective actions
Prioritizes workload and manages responsibilities with minimal supervision
Apply critical thinking and accounting guidance to recommend appropriate treatment for non-routine transactions
Partner with Finance, Accounting, Operations and Business Leadership teams to identify and resolve accounting and financial reporting issues while driving operational and financial excellence
Own and prepare financial reporting, including analysis and commentary, for cross department and management use
Lead and support process improvement initiatives, ERP enhancements, automation efforts, and cross-functional business projects
Serve as a key resource for retail branch personnel by leading support for seed programs, costing resolution, Supplier seed EDI validations, system guidance, and operational initiatives
Mentor less experienced team members and act as an experienced resource within the accounting organization
Support internal and external audits and assist with technical accounting assessments and implementation of accounting guidance
Collaborate on special projects and other initiatives assigned by leader
Limited travel is possible for attendance at Regional/Divisional Meetings, visits to Branches, and attendance at training opportunities
What You'll Bring Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field
3+ years of practical experience
Proficient in applying accounting principles and financial reporting best practices
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Versed in SAP or similar ERP/accounting software
Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across departments
Demonstrates sound judgment, integrity, and robust business ethics
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with appropriate guidance and as part of a team
Experience using Power Query, Power BI, or Power Automation for data transformation, is a strong asset
