Become a School Based Resource Teacher at Charles Bloom Secondary, effective September 8, 2026. This continuing contract role focuses on supporting diverse educational needs and cooperative planning with IEPs.
This role seeks qualified individuals who possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate and advanced training in Special Education or Inclusive Education. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of classroom experience and two years in special education, emphasizing collaboration and development of Individual Education Plans. Your expertise will directly influence the success of students with various educational needs, including autism and learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans for students
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and case management
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists
• Supervise Certified Education Assistants in the classroom
• Manage positive behavior support and behavioral programming
Requirements:
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate required
• Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Education
• Level B assessment training needed
• 5 years teaching experience required
• Knowledge of inclusionary practices and strategies
