POSITION OVERVIEW
The City of Maple Ridge Fire Department is committed to recruiting talented and motivated individuals who possess a high level of integrity and want to serve our community. Paid-On-Call Firefighters devote their time and energy to the Maple Ridge Fire Department while maintaining their personal and work commitments. This information outlines the minimum entrance requirements for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter in the Maple Ridge Fire Department. A position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter does not guarantee employment as a Career Firefighter with the Maple Ridge Fire Department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
You must:

Be at least 18 years of age

Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, holders of a Permanent Resident Card, or Landed Immigrant)

Hold a valid Driver's license

Reside within Maple Ridge boundaries upon completion of recruit training

Have a minimum Grade 12 Completion (or equivalent GED)

INFORMATION CHECKLIST

Resume & Cover letter

ICBC Driving Record

Copy of high school diploma or greater (e.g. college, technical or post-secondary degree)





ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IF SELECTED POST INTERVIEW STAGE

Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (the original embossed copy will be required if selected)

Medical clearance letter.

Anticipated Recruitment Timeline

Wednesday August 26 at 18:30 hrs Information Night - Fire Hall #1
Wednesday September 2 at 18:30 hrs Information Night - Fire Hall #4
Wednesday September 23 Written Assessment - Fire Hall #1
Saturday October 10 Physicals or receipt of CPAT or equivalent
Various Days November 12,13, 16, 17 Potential Interviews

Anticipated start date mid January 2027
